Empowering Entrepreneurs Through Education
Shasta Spotlight is committed to nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit in Shasta County through engaging, hands-on educational opportunities offered throughout the year. From networking mixers to in-depth workshops, our events are designed to support aspiring and emerging business owners at every stage of their journey.
One of our flagship programs is the Youth Entrepreneurship Summit, which inspires and equips the next generation of innovators through keynote speakers, interactive workshops, mentorship, and award opportunities. This summit gives students the tools and encouragement they need to turn ideas into action.
In addition to youth programming, Shasta Spotlight will host a variety of professional development events focused on practical business education — including how to start a business, navigate licensing, bookkeeping basics, marketing strategies, and more. These events are tailored for those looking to break into entrepreneurship, build confidence, and connect with local resources.
By partnering with organizations like Start-Up Redding, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and the Women’s Business Center (WBC), we ensure our attendees have access to expert guidance and a supportive community.

Coming Soon!
Shasta Spotlight has developed an application process for businesses in need of financial assistance. This microgrant, which is less than $5,000, is intended for specific purposes and not for business growth. To be considered, businesses must have been in operation for at least three years. Applicants must submit the required financial documents and a short essay explaining why they need the grant and how it will be used. A committee of advisors will review the applications and make unbiased decisions on grant distribution.
